Barton Goldsmith

Barton Goldsmith, Ph.D., LMFT is a Licensed Psychotherapist who also works in the media and entertainment industries. He is the author of 7 books, a keynote speaker, and a syndicated columnist. Since 2002, his newspaper column, syndicated by Tribune Media, is featured in The New York Daily News and The Chicago Tribune and has run in over 400 other publications including The Washington Post, The San Francisco Chronicle, Time, and Cosmopolitan. Dr. Goldsmith also produced, wrote and hosted a weekly radio show on the NPR affiliate KCLU, with nearly 100,000 listeners from Los Angeles to Santa Barbara where he interviewed hundreds of Influencers in the fields of psychology and entertainment. He has appeared on national talk and news shows, most recently CBS Sunday Morning, as well as many, many radio talk shows. He is a national voting member of The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. His books include Emotional Fitness for Couples: 10 Minutes a Day to a Better Relationship and Emotional Fitness for Intimacy: Sweeten and Deepen Your Love in Just 10 Minutes a Day, as well as The Happy Couple: How to Make Happiness a Habit One Little Loving Thing at a Time; Emotional Fitness at Work: 6 Strategic Steps to Success Using the Power of Emotion; and 100 Ways to Boost Your Self-Confidence – Believe in Yourself and Others Will Too. He was co-author of 100 Ways to Overcome Shyness. His most recent title is Visualization For Success - 75 Psychological Empowerment Exercises To Get You What You Want In Life which will be released on May 5th of 2020 by Callisto Media. He received recognition from the City of Los Angeles for his work with survivors of the 1994 earthquake. Emotional Fitness was the winner of the Clark Vincent Award for Writing from the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists. In addition, Dr. Goldsmith received the Peter Markin Merit Award from the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists for his humanitarian efforts. He has also been named as the recipient of the Joseph A. Giannantoino II Award in recognition of his contributions as an Outstanding Educator in the field of Addiction Medicine, given by The California Association of Alcoholism and Drug Counselors, who also inducted him into The CAADAC Hall of Fame. Dr. Goldsmith was a National Merit Scholar and a Professor of Psychology at Ryokan College, Los Angeles. Dr. Goldsmith connects with audiences worldwide with his energetic, uplifting and fun communication style. Not a button-down shrink, he has a unique ability to inspire and entertain which leaves his readers, viewers, and listeners always wanting more. “Dr. G” began working in the field of psychology when his career in professional basketball was cut short because he only grew to five-foot six-inches tall. Heidi Grant Halvorson

Heidi Grant Halvorson is a social psychologist, and Associate Director of Columbia's Motivation Science Center. Her research has focused on understanding why some people give up when their goals give them trouble, while others can rise to the challenge. She is the author of SUCCEED, NINE THINGS SUCCESSFUL PEOPLE DO DIFFERENTLY, FOCUS, and THE EIGHT MOTIVATIONAL CHALLENGES. Through her books, articles, and her blogs (99u, Harvard Business Review, Psychology Today, Fast Company), she hopes to help people understand that ANYONE can reach their goals, and give them the scientifically-tested strategies they need to succeed. In addition to her work as author and co-editor of the highly-regarded academic book The Psychology of Goals (Guilford, 2009), she has authored papers in her field's most prestigious journals, including the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, Journal of Experimental Social Psychology, Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin, European Journal of Social Psychology, and Judgment and Decision Making. She has received grants from the National Science Foundation for her research on goals and achievement. She also serves on the Board of Advisors for Columbia University Business School's Motivation Science Center. Her work has been praised by Carol Dweck, Matthew Kelly, Dr. Edward Hallowell, and Peter Bregman, among many others. Dr. Grant Halvorson is a member of the Association for Psychological Science, and the Society for Personality and Social Psychology, and was recently elected a Fellow of the Society for Experimental Social Psychology. She gives frequent invited addresses and speaks regularly at national conferences, and is available for speaking engagements and workshops, primarily in education and management.
