Hi, I'm Vida Rose. I'm an artist and content creator based in Seattle.
Like so many of us in a moment of crisis, I had to turn to whatever free mental health resources I could find. I arrived at a place where I was like "ok, if it's accessible and I can do it right now, I'll try anything: EFT, meditation, breathwork, gratitude practice..."
My work with @comics_and_selfcare is about synthesizing what's worked for me, and sharing it in my own language. I believe the solutions we're praying for are here already, and they speak to us in our most authentic language. Mine happens to be comics.
I love to disrupt a doom scroll with a moment of simplicity, humor and kindness. I love to find the essence of a helpful, cute message and hold it up like a mirror, showing my reader how cute and helpful they already are. I love humanity. I love to use my voice and my drawings to share practical, entertaining medicine.
