Wafa Sabiti
Wafa' Tarnowska was born in Lebanon and has lived and worked in Australia, India, Cyprus, Poland, the UK and Dubai. She currently lives between the UK and Poland writing and translating books and documentaries for major TV channels. In her work, Wafa' strives to create a valuable bridge between East and West, helping to break down the stereotypical images people have of one another.
Wafa' is the author of several children's books translated into numerous languages (Dutch, Danish, Korean, French, Arabic, Spanish and Portuguese) and two books of quotes for adults. She is also a radio broadcaster, lecturer and adores travelling. Her top destinations are Andalucía in Spain, many Greek Islands and the province of Nayarit on the Pacific Coast of Mexico. She has translated numerous books from English to Arabic and four plays from Arabic to English.

Her "Amazing Women of the Middle East: 25 Stories from Ancient Times to Present Day" published in September 2020 in hardback in the USA and the UK, has been reprinted in paperback and updated in November 2022. It was chosen as "Non-fiction Book of the Month" in December 2020 by Magrudys Bookshop in Dubai.

Her “Arabian Nights” published by Barefoot Books, won the American Folklore Society Aesop Accolade, the Moonbeam Award Gold Medal Winner and the Smithsonian Magazine Notable Book for Children in 2011.
She lives in a 100-year old home in Hertfordshire where she grows her own vegetables.
